explains how we handle information when you use StoryTime Buddy: AI
Stories (the “App”).
We designed StoryTime Buddy with privacy as a core principle. Here’s
what you need to know:
- We do NOT collect personal information from children
- We do NOT collect names, email addresses, or contact information
- We do NOT collect photos or images of users
- We do NOT track location data
- We do NOT use cookies or tracking technologies
- We do NOT share any data with third parties
- We do NOT serve advertisements
The following data is stored only on your device and never
transmitted to us:
- Stories you create (text and images)
- Character preferences and settings
- Reading progress and favorites
- App preferences (language, voice settings, font choices)
- Purchase history (managed by Apple)
2. AI PROCESSING
2.1 On-Device AI
StoryTime Buddy uses Apple Intelligence for story and image
generation. All AI processing occurs:
- Entirely on your device
- Without sending data to external servers
- Using Apple’s built-in machine learning frameworks
2.2 No Cloud Processing
Your stories, prompts, and creative content are:
- Never uploaded to cloud servers
- Never used to train AI models
- Never shared with Apple or third parties
3. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY (COPPA COMPLIANCE)
StoryTime Buddy is designed for children ages 4–10 and complies with
the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
3.1 We Do Not:
- Collect personal information from children under 13
- Require account creation or registration
- Enable social features, chat, or communication with others
- Display behavioral advertising
- Share children’s data with third parties
3.2 Parental Controls
- Parents can delete all stored data at any time
- Parents can restrict in-app purchases via iOS settings
- No parental consent is required since we collect no data
4. IN-APP PURCHASES
4.1 Purchase Handling
- All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store
- We do not have access to payment information
- Purchase history is managed by Apple, not us
4.2 Family Sharing
- Our in-app purchases support Apple Family Sharing
- Parents can share purchases with family members
- Parents can control purchase permissions via Screen Time
5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

All app data is stored locally on your device using:

- Apple’s SwiftData framework
- Standard iOS file protection
5.2 Data Deletion
You can delete all app data by:
- Deleting individual stories within the app
- Using the “Clear All Data” option in Settings
- Uninstalling the app from your device

- Audio is processed on-device only
- Never recorded, stored, or transmitted

- Used to extract text from saved images
- Images are processed on-device only
- Never uploaded or shared
6.4 Speech Recognition (Optional)
- Uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition
- Voice data stays on your device
- Not sent to Apple or third parties
7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
7.1 Apple Services
We use the following Apple services:
- App Store (for purchases)
- Apple Intelligence (for AI features)
- Text-to-Speech (for narration)
